RADA graduate nominated at the 2023 Academy Awards

RADA graduate Andrea Riseborough has been nominated for an Oscar for her leading role in indie drama, To Leslie. The nomination for Best Actress marks her first Oscar nomination for her performance as an alcoholic one-time lottery winner in West Texas. Andrea Riseborough’s performance was also nominated for Best Lead Performance at the Independent Spirit Awards 2023.

Reviews of Andrea’s performance include: “deceptively simple yet heart-wrenching character study”, The New York Times; “This is, ultimately, an intimate character study purpose-built as a star vehicle for a superlative actress long overdue for some proper recognition”, Empire; “Andrea Riseborough is at her devastating career best”, Collider.

Previously, Andrea has been nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance, the BAFTA Rising Star Award, three British Independent Film Award (for Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress and Breakthrough Performance), a British Academy Television Award for Best Actress, the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Featured Actress, and a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Play.
